Live Device Connectivity

Prior releases Fogwing IIoT Platform supported to show the device status as connected only when the device send data to the Fogwing IoThub. With the new Live device connectivity, now the platform shows the device status as connected as soon as the device connected to the IoThub (MQTT Broker). It helps users to quickly check the connection establishment before sending the actual payload.

A device registered with Fogwing IIoT Platform, established connectivity through MQTT, displays device status as connected until MQTT connection disconnected. There is no mandatory need for the devices to send the data to the cloud to stay connected.

Fogwing IIoT Platform Release Notes February 2023 Simplified Edge Deletion

Edge Deletion Simplified

The new enhanced feature simplifies the process of deleting Edge Devices faster than ever before. Now admin users can delete edge devices without deleting related configurations like IoTHub access, Formulas, Attributes, etc.

As per the new process, when admin user delete any of the device, the system automatically identify all related configurations of the edge such as data rules, MQTT access credentials, formula, routing and related commands then delete all of them together, of-course after admin user prompt to delete all of them.

Note: All configurations related to edge devices will be deleted permanently. It cannot be recovered.

IoT Data Quota Usage Alert

In the beginning of 2023, new subscription plan launched with innovate model of unlimited devices and pay only for data usage. Subscription accounts now pay according to the data volume size and but not based on the total number of device connectivity. In this release, new usage alert mechanisms placed to send the alerts to admin users when the account exceeding the data storage quota allocated according to the subscription level.

  •  Once the data limit exceeds, admin users can upgrade their pricing plan or request a dedicated instance.
  • Admin users see data alert notifications in the portal once the payload size exceeds 80%, 90%, and 100% of its limit. 
  • Admin users will also receive email notification about the usage alerts.

Fogwing Open API v1.3

The Device Registry Open API now enables the display of the MQTT client Id and activation code along with the Edge details like edge EUI, edge name, application name, edge type, MQTT client Id, latitude, and longitude in Create device Registry. This enhanced feature will provide API developer the adequate data while creating a device in the registry.
